First issue had Kevin keegan on cover and writers in each issue included Brian clough, Glen Hoddle and Ossie Ardiles. The only comic strip was titled "Guv" (about a cigar smokin, sheepskin- coat wearing manager) . For the first couple of years Match was "Shoot" for older kids/adults, before it dumbed down to compete with its rival in its later years. - Alison
