Head to the Bibliography page to see the "Speed Plane" that came with Speed issue 1.

Not actual info as such but wasnt the comic name a classic! Imagine going into a newsagent now days and asking the bloke if he had Speed! When I used to get the comic my Grandma would collect it for me. So there you go the only person to have his Grandma supply him with Speed! Sorry - Mark

Speed first published on the 23rd feb 1980 at the very expensive price of 12p, i have the comic but no aeroplane (if anyone has one?) It climbs, it Swoops, It turns and It Loops. Topps on two wheels was my favourite, he attempts to jump a river on his boss's motorbike but it ran out of petrol halfway across and lands in the water. - Stephen Doyle

Speed merged with TIGER on november 1st 1980. The stories that switched from Speed were Death Wish, Topps on Two Wheels, Speedboy and Winner. Speedboy starred a young speed merchant called Tim Barlow and he was incorporated into Billys Boots. Winner starred a Formula One driver called Trevor Watson who after an accident was prone to having blackouts. This was the story of File of Fame for a number of months. - Neil Farrell
